Mission: Made in Milwaukee is a cultural advocacy group dedicated to the exposure, growth, and advancement of the local art, music, and business community. Our mission is to provide the people of Milwaukee of all ages an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow with the creative culture of Milwaukee.
Vision: Made in Milwaukee is and will continue to be an effort in community connectivity, social interaction, and highlighting the creative culture of Milwaukee. With a growing ability to focus on larger and larger parts of the community, Made in Milwaukee strives to create a positive impact on the city through grassroots local interaction and community investment. Made in Milwaukee has the ever-increasing potential to offer thousands of Milwaukeeans access to the creative arts and local businesses that enrich our community. As that bond grows, we will grow in our ability to provide an outstanding platform for entertainment, education, and access to the best Milwaukee has to offer.
Who: Made in Milwaukee is a small group of volunteers working to present, promote and invest in the cultural fabric of Milwaukee. Our group consists of musicians, artists, promoters, and community activists that are actively involved in Milwaukee’s art and cultural community. As artists in Milwaukee we understand that it was the city supporting us that allowed us to grow and it is our honor and duty to support and give back the same way, serving the community in the way we know best.
History: Made in Milwaukee began in 2003 as an art and music event held during Third Ward Gallery Night. From those humble beginnings MiM has supported countless local musicians and artists and produced over 14 events; with the largest being the Made in Milwaukee Festival in Cathedral Square Park, where 10,000+ come to enjoy over 100 local art and business vendors, kid friendly events, and live music all day. Our most recent effort, Bay View Gallery Night was a great success in 2011, supporting 22 local businesses, over 60 artists, and drawing over 5,000 people to the Bay View community.
Affiliates: Made in Milwaukee is proud to have many strong local business ties. Our long-standing partners include: Local First Milwaukee, Sweet Water Organics, 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, 91.7 WMSE Radio, 89.7 WUWM, Pabst/Riverside/Turner, Milwaukee Magazine, and Milwaukee Film.
